Hi guys, do you ever get them days when you just don’t know what to make when you’re hungry? I get them all the time! I thought id share with you one of my favourite go too recipes. Macro nutrients #3Hi guys, just going to tell you a little bit about the macro nutrient protein and give you a general overview of the importance of this and how contributes to achieving goals. What is it?
Protein is a molecule in food that can be broken down into amino acids. Our bodies need 20 amino acids. The body itself can create or synthesize 11 of those amino acids. But the body needs 9 essential amino acids, the only thing is our body can’t create these and has to get them into our systems through consumption of food. In order to create the amino acids that the body needs, the body will breaks down the protein in the food. The essential amino acids that our body needs are: Tryptophan, Threonine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Valine and Histidine. My 5 favourite body weight exercises!Hi guys, well as you can tell by the title these are 5 body weight exercises that I love doing. But there is a reason behind this post. Basically today I really wasn't in the mood to go all the way to the gym and smash a workout. I felt like working out in the sun and the nature today as it was a lovely day to be outside not in a sweaty gym. I'm sure you all get those days where you want to be outside. So I thought I would share what I did with all of you lovely people.
DRINK DRINK DRINK!Come on everyone summer is on its way and its getting hotter each day. One important thing we need to remind ourselves is to drink enough water. DRINK, DRINK AND DRINK. We need to be keeping our bodies hydrated and refreshed. On average you should be drinking 2 litres of water a day. I drink so much throughout these hot months!
I have just been on holiday to Menorca and was drinking at least 3 litres of water a day if not more. I walked and swam literally every day and needed to keep hydrated especially as it was about 30 degrees out there. Water is one of the most important things we can nourish our bodies with, seen as we are 60% water anyway it’s probably a good idea. Drinking enough water will help to improve your training goals and helps your bodily functions daily. Macro nutrients #1Hi guys, just going to tell you a little bit about one of my favourite macronutrients and give you a general overview of the importance of this and how contributes to achieving goals.
What are they? Carbohydrates are one of three macronutrients. All three of these macronutrients form a large part of our diet, the other two being fats and protein. Carbohydrates are found in fruits, vegetables, grains and some dairy products. The Carbohydrates found in these are starches, fibres and sugars. Starches- starchy foods are a source of energy for the body. They make up a lot of the nutrients in our diet such as iron and B vitamin. Fibres- fibres come only from plant based foods. It can help reduce the amount of cholesterol in our blood stream. Also eating fibrous foods such as fruit and vegetables can help ease the constipation so get eating guys. Sugars- Sugars are a source of energy for the brain and red blood cells. Sugars are digested quickly and easily broken down into glucose, this is then used for energy. The Gym Myself And IHi guys just me again, I thought I’d tell you a little bit about how I started the gym, my thought of it and what types of training I started off doing.
As you all know by my previous blog post I have always been very sporty and I also loved running and keeping active. But to be honest with you all I had no clue what to do in the gym apart from doing crunches and sit-ups and knowing how to work the cardiovascular machines. Hello, my name is Amelia nice to meet you all thank you for visiting my blog. I have set up this blog as I have always been very passionate about fitness. Fitness has made a difference to my life throughout my years of research and I would like to take this huge opportunity to share with you guys everything I have learned over the years.
I am interested in fitness as ever since a young age I took part in all kinds of sports such as basketball, netball, running, rounder’s, cricket, rugby and so on. I was always partaking in after school clubs and to be honest I don’t think there were many days where I wasn’t doing some form of sporting activity. This carried on till I was in my last two years of secondary school. I studied sports for both of these years and you probably wouldn’t have thought this but most of the time we were in the classroom doing theory work and there was minimal practical work. I hated not doing any sports or active exercise throughout this time it just wasn’t me. This is when I decided to take up running as my new hobby. As soon as I got home from school I would whack on old sports clothes and a pair of running trainers and let my feet tell me where to go. I would do this every night after school and I absolutely loved it. I did this for a good 3 years till I was old enough and had the money to join a gym. I joined a gym as both I and one of my friends at the time were both interested in joining the gym. We were both in a sports class in 6th form one day and I was talking to my friend about joining a gym as we were both really interested. We were debating for age’s whether we should join up so we ended up coming to a conclusion and signed up that night and its one of the best things I ever did... |
