Lets all start this year off with a bang, set yourselves goals. Weather it be health and fitness related goals, money goals or even work goals, no matter what it is you would like to achieve throughout 2017 never give up. Keep thriving for progression, keep working hard on that one person you see in the reflection. If you would have started a year ago you would be at your goal by now, don’t let another year go to waste. SET A GOAL- set a goal for yourself, something you would like to achieve by the end of 2017 or even sooner. Within those long term goals set some short term goals to keep you on your toes. STEPPING STONES- set smaller goals maybe weekly or monthly goals that will enable you to step the stones towards your main goal. POSITIVE – Think positively about your goals and what it is that you want to achieve. Be optimistic about what you want and don’t be hard on yourself, keep striving for success but still have fun. KEEP TRACK – keep track of how your goal reaching is going, analyse the positives and negatives throughout your journey. Make those negatives positive and those positives be progressed into something you would never have believed. YOUR NOT ON YOUR OWN – There are millions of people setting and logging their goals through social media; YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and plenty more. Following people on their journey helps to motivate you and keep you on track over the weeks. As its wintertime I always feel like I need something warm and comforting when I get home from a long day or a cold winter walk. Matcha latte is always something I opt for, it’s healthy, delicious and so satisfying!

So it’s a new year... I know we have been in 2017 for a month now but people are still trying out all the new diet fads and crazes and I came across this product that I though would be good help to all of you that are just trying to become more healthy, eat more plant based foods, or are tracking macros and need a high protein low carbohydrate food item. What if I said to you, this item that I am about to show you is pasta...PASTA...not just any old pasta but mung bean and edamame fettuccine. I know it sounds strange right, that’s what I thought when I first heard of it. To be brutally honest with you, it’s delicious and can’t taste the difference between that and normal fettuccine. Now for the good part... the Macros and can I just say they are AMAZING! MACROS Per 100g there is... Fat – 3.6g Carbohydrates – 16g Fibre – 18g Protein 43g Now I’m not a lover of plain food, I like to jazz it up a bit so with this fettuccine I fried some tofu in 1 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp chilli flakes and 1 tsp of all purpose seasoning. I fried the tofu until it was crisp on the outside and then topped it onto fettuccine with some sliced green onion and some cucumber.
Since I started going to the gym, working out and keeping a eye on what I am eating I always found meal prepping the easiest way to go about achieving my health and fitness goals and found this is what worked best for me.
Meal prepping has become a big craze, everyone is doing it all around the world to heal achieve their health and fitness goals, buy why? What is wrong with cooking as and when you are hungry? Well my friends this is why...
In the morning I like to have something light like a protein smoothie to start off the day. I like to add greens and seeds to add extra nutrients and healthy fats which help me feel fuller for longer.
Ingredients - 1 cup spinach 1 tsp wheatgrass powder 100ml soya milk 200ml water ½ frozen banana 30g vanilla protein 1 tbsp chia seeds Add all these ingredients into a blender and blend until everything is smooth. THATS IT! Eating out is a nice social thing we all do with our friends family and loved ones, and the last thing you want is to let your health and fitness goals put you in a position where you cant do these things.
I am going to share with you my top tips on how to stay on track when you eat out. 1. Check the menu prior to eating out... Typically when I go out I tend to look up the menu online prior to the day. I have a look at what choices they offer and make a decision weather they are fit for my needs or not. I don’t usually make a final decision on what I am going to exactly have at this point but it gives me a rough idea. Most restaurants do not mind if you ask for what you want and maybe change a few things on one meal to something that tickles your taste buds. 2. Speak to the waiter... I tend to ask the waiter what oils and how much of it they use when cooking the foods, if your focusing on your fitness goals you do not want your meals covered in creamy sauces or smothered in oils. I ask the waiter if the sauce or dressing can be put on the side this way I usually portion it out and then give the rest to someone else. 3. Don’t go out hungry... I used to think throughout the day that if I ate salads and light meals that I would be okay when I go out to eat.... NO!... that was not the case, I would end up eating the whole menu (not really but you get what I mean). It was one of the worst ideas I ever had, make sure throughout the day that you eat meals that fill you up nicely so you don’t go out for a meal extremely hungry... you’ll end up making bad choices... believe me! 4. Usual food... When you are at a restaurant thing how you would when preparing your usual meals throughout the week, so for me that is protein, some carbs and vegetables... its that easy. Ask the waiter how the food is cooked, weather it be deep fried or baked. 5. Drinks... I have never been one to have fizzy drinks or alcohol when I go out for dinner as it always makes me feel bloated and sick. But I know most people feel like they have to have some sort of special drink when they are out... but why? Well because its a social thing but you cam always ask for a jug of water because we all know those fizzy drinks and alcohol are full of empty calories How to find your happy -
Everyone should take a moment and thing about the good things in their life, the happy things and the positive things, not just fall back to the same negative path again and again and again. It can make your become more energetic, motivated, physically active, fun and most important ready to concur the day.
